lavender jam
okeleydokeley, i know it looks and sounds quite exotic, but i have to tell you it's not. this lavender jam is a wonderful thing to have in your pantry. since it's not as firm as usual jam, it makes a wonderful glaze for chicken, lamb or any kind of fish you would put on the grill. also a killer ingredient for youghurt, icecream and goat cheese. oh - it's just divine and look at the colours!!! girls, give it a try, its so easy to make and it will please everyone at your table.
RECIPE
a hand full of organic, dried lavender blossoms
50g sugar
2 tablespoons of honey
150ml red port wine
100ml creme de cassis
120ml water
mix all ingredients in a saucepan and let cook for about 30 minutes until it gets all syrupy. then put in a sealable glass jar and keep in the fridge.

It's purple. I love purple. Not a fan of jam, but maybe the color will change my mind.
I have got to get to whole foods... I think that would be my best bet for lavender! It must be wonderful to smell.
Oh this looks so beautiful. I'm sure it tastes just as good as it looks. Delish!
Lovely!
I love not the norm things and I would never thought of making that. The smell must be amazing in the house when you make it.
Lavender is one of those unexpected flavors that tastes as soothing and delicious as it smells. I love that you can use it in everything from soap to perfume to food. Now that I have this recipe, lavender may become a main component of my diet :) (Lavender Creme Brulee is to die for too!)
I love that! It looks beautiful. I make a lavendar and lemon scone..I bet this would be awesome with it!
